Report reaching me from Sky Sports in the UNITED KINGDOM earlier today says crystal palace owner is in talks to bring Christian Benteke from Merseyside over to London before the season kicks-off on Saturday, we believe crystal palace are looking for a strong forward that will push them at least far above relegation this season and have identified Benteke the Belgian forward as the one.
Liverpool are believed to be pricing the player at 32 million pounds if he is to leave the club, they want Crystal Palace to buy the striker the same price they got him last year from Aston-villa.
The striker is said to be unsettled at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp as made it clear to him he wont be starting games as he prefers Divock Origi to him.
Crystal Palace also agreed a fee with Marseille for Michy Batshuayi before he opted to join Chelsea and subsequently had two offers for Benteke rejected by Liverpool. The second, worth up to £30m with add-ons, fell short of Liverpool’s valuation of a player purchased from Aston Villa last summer.
Palace have agreed to match Benteke’s £120,000-a-week wages, which would make him the club’s highest-paid player. His agent, Eris Kismet, told the Guardian on Sunday that he was hopeful his client’s future could be resolved soon.
Benteke was signed by Brendan Rodgers from Villa last summer and scored nine Premier League goals in his first season
