Cesc Fabregas is officially the king of assists after a new statistic shows the Chelsea midfielder holds the record for creating the most goals in fewer than 250 Premier League appearances ever.
The stat, produced by Opta, confirms that Fabregas has notched up 82 assists in fewer than 250 top-flight English games – beating Manchester United legend Eric Cantona by 26 assists and fellow Blues player Didier Drogba (55) as well.
While the stat will be welcomed by Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, it won’t make for good reading for Fabregas’ former manager Arsene Wenger – after a statistic recently showed the 27-year-old has racked up more assists in the Premier League this season than Jack Wilshere has managed in his entire career.
